An unbelievably tasty meal - Thai, Japanese and Indonesian dishes, plus red rice grown by converted M's in a mission effort to give them an income after being rejected by their families.

Last night we had a delightful evening in the home of Budi and Yanti Yuwono and his family. Budi works as VP for External Cooperation and Business development at UPH. They have 4 of the most engaging children I have met in a long time. These two older ones (Jane (16) and Gideon (11) sat and talked with us at table and were full of intelligent questions about politics, faith, the States and life.

Now here's a good looking snail - HUGE!! I bet they love this place - nice and wet, humid and lots of green stuff to slide under.

On Tuesday's Chapel for faculty (no students are obligated to attend unless they are in the Teacher's College), and we had a small award ceremony planned to give the three girls who studied at OBU last year, Mariska, Olivia and Gina, their academic achievement awards. Olivia received the President's List award, and Marisk and Gina, the Dean's List award. Gina could not be with us for the award-giving, Mariska (on stage with Ian) was there, and Olivia arrived on Indo time and missed the award recognition ceremony by a few minutes. She's such a clown! Poor Mariska was the sole representative for the group. We hoped to honor them for their excellence at OBU, working in their second language, and also raising awareness of the study abroad options offered between OBU and UPH.

Last Sunday Ian was the Litergist for the worship service at Chapel....he just can't get away from that Chapel, can he!! This time he had to assist in leading the singing too, which was a new twist to his resume.
